WEIGHT LOSS PREVENTS GERD

Shedding extra pounds may curb symptoms of gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD), according to a comprehensive review study.

Findings showed that weight loss and elevating the head of the bed ward off GERD. In contrast, other lifestyle interventions — including cessation of tobacco, alcohol, or other dietary interventions — did not influence symptoms.
