How your spine affects health

Any interference with your nerve system can result in you not feeling as well as you should.

This fact was confirmed by a University of Calgary study. They concluded: “since the spinal cord is encased and protected by the vertebrae of the spinal column any injury or dysfunction of the spine can affect the nerves and since the nerve system has been shown to affect the body’s immune responses it seems clear that keeping the spinal column and nerve system healthy is important in fending off disease.”

This interference is called a “subluxation,” and can cause back pain and a host of other difficulties.

What happens when your body subluxates?

Your nervous system controls and coordinates all the functions of your body. If you interfere with the signals traveling over nerves, parts of your body will not get the proper nerve messages and will not be able to function at 100% of your innate ability. In other words, some part of your body will not be working properly.

Subluxations? How dangerous are they?

When you hear the word “cancer”, there is an instant vision of a very serious and life threatening disease. When you hear the word “AIDS”, you think of a terminal condition with a person suffering with no hope of survival. Subluxations compromise your body’s function (lowered immunity and increased toxicity). Subluxations reduce your vitality making a breeding ground for infection, cancer and all other disease.

That is how dangerous subluxations are.

Why chiropractic care?

Chiropractic is a clinical science based upon the law of biology that states that inborn into all living things is the ability to be well.

Removing interference to this master control system allows the body to heal itself and gives the optimum conditions for life and health. You can have subluxations for a period of time before you experience the effects of them and therefore how you feel is not a good indicator of how you are.

What does the chiropractor do?

It is the responsibility of the Doctor of Chiropractic to locate subluxations, and reduce or correct them.

This is done through a series of chiropractic adjustments specifically designed to correct the vertebral subluxations in your spine.

Chiropractors are the only professionals who undergo years of training to be the experts at correcting subluxations.
