BREASTFEEDING KEEPS KID’S BLOOD PRESSURE IN CHECK

Breastfeeding prevents high blood pressure in youngsters, finds a study in Archives of Disease in Childhood. And, the longer the period of breastfeeding, the more the benefit, say researchers.
The experiment included 2,192 children from Denmark and Estonia, aged between 9 and 15 years.
“The magnitude of the effect we found with blood pressure is comparable to the published effects of salt restriction and physical activity on blood pressure in adult populations, suggesting that it is of public health importance,” conclude the researchers.
